WE REAP WHAT WE SOW
Means and ends are the same…
If one is to make lasting change in ourselves and our world we need to start implementing the change within us in each moment. We fool ourselves to think that we can behave in a certain way now for there to be a different outcome in the future. We will always reap what we sow.
Lasting peace can not arrive by wars and suppression. By imposing one’s beliefs and values on others we only help to harden their position. At some point it will erupt as a volcano when the pressure finds an opening. History has more than proved this point.
On a personal level, if we want peace, harmony, love, and well-being in our lives, then within our thoughts and actions those qualities must be instilled. We can not mistreat or disrespect ourselves or others and expect harmony and beauty to be integral in our lives.
We have a tendency to postpone what we desire in sacrifice of some future outcome. Stressed with our jobs, unhappy in our relationships and unfulfilled in our lives, we carry an emotional energy that keeps us in the same place day after day. We can value our possessions and status so much higher than the quality of our own being, while doing a great disservice to ourselves and others.
The quality of who we are comes from our thoughts, words and actions. It is irrelevant to our outer conditions.
It is up to all of us to live in integrity and harmony. We need to speak up when something does not feel right and live each moment with love and compassion for ourselves and those around us. How many times are you aware that the way you are feeling is not how you would like to be. We wait for the outer world to change and that is not how we co-create the reality we want to live.
Only by holding peace, love & compassion in ourselves can we bring that into our world. All change begins from within. - By Manny Muros
